Opened in 1967,officially designated as an important harbor,
even now improvement of facilities is in progress,
to be serviceable to the whole north Kanto region.
Industrial zone was developed next to harbor,annually about 1700
national and foreighn ships arrive at and depart from this harbor
for export of industrial products and inport of wood and
agricultural products.
